A six-vehicle crash Wednesday that started when one motorist suffered a medical emergency at the intersection of Park Lane and North Burhans Boulevard sent two drivers to Washington County Hospital, the Hagers- town Police Department said.
Police said a pickup truck was northbound on North Burhans Boulevard just before 4 p.m., when the driver suffered a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to run a red light at Park Lane and side swipe another vehicle. The vehicle then went north on North Burhans Boulevard, striking another vehicle in the rear and pushing it into southbound traffic, where it struck another vehicle, police said.
The vehicle then continued north, rear-ending two more vehicles, one of which went over an embankment, police said.
The names of the people hurt in the accident were not available Wednesday afternoon, police said.
