Greencastle's Bittner gets 4-inning gem vs. Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Drew Bittner tossed a four-inning no-hitter as Greencastle defeated Harrisburg (0-4, 0-3) in a Mid Penn Capital game, 16-0, on Tuesday.

Trevor Ile had two hits and three stolen bases, Bittner had two hits and Cole Sellers had two RBI for the Blue Devils (3-3, 2-0).

Central Dauphin 10, Chambersburg 4

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Marshall Gilbert had two hits, including a homerun, and two RBI but Chambersburg (3-1, 1-1) pitchers surrendered 14 hits in a Mid Penn Commonwealth loss to Central Dauphin (4-1, 2-1).


Battery Creek 5, Hedgesville 4

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Michael Lopez, Jesse Simmons, Maurice Adams and Tylor McCain each had a hit for Hedgesville in a loss to Battery Creek in the Batrup Tournament.

Adams and Brandon Nicewarner each had an RBI for the Eagles (3-7).

Waynesboro 14, Big Spring 3

NEWVILLE, Pa. - Chris Arendt pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead Waynesboro over Big Spring (0-3, 0-3) in a Mid-Penn Colonial game.

Brenton Kopecek and Zach Helman each had four hits and Nathan Minnich went 3-for-3, including two triples and a double, for the Indians (3-2, 2-0).

Arendt and Ian Smith each had three hits.

Maret 9, St. James 0

WASHINGTON - Jimmy Sutch had two hits and Dylan Zimmerman had one for St. James (2-5, 2-3) in a Mid-Atlantic Conference loss to Maret.

Jefferson 4, Louisa Co. (Va.) 1

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Matt Tiano had two RBI as Jefferson (10-1) won its second game in the Hawaiian Tropic Classic.

Southern Fulton 7, Tussey Mountain 6

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Derek Younker came on in relief in the fourth inning, allowing only one run with three strikeouts, to pick up the win for Southern Fulton (3-2).

Josh Hall had two hits, including a double, and Younker added two hits for the Indians.


Goretti 11, Hancock 4

Chrystal Klein went 3-for-4 with four RBI to lead St. Maria Goretti.

Caroline Rosenthal went 2-for-2 with two RBI and Kaila Chaney and Katie Marrama each had a double for the Gaels (2-6).

Hayley Ruppenthal scored two runs to lead the Panthers (2-5).

Williamsport 9, Tuscarora 1

WIILIAMSPORT - Emily Huff pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts and no walks as Williamsport (4-2) defeated Tuscarora.

Casey Siler went 3-for-4 with two RBI and the Wildcats used a six-run fourth inning to put the game away.

Berkeley Springs 8, Clear Spring 6

CLEAR SPRING - Sam Zahnow struck out 10 in a complete-game win to lead the Indians (7-7) over the Blazers (1-4, 0-3). Zahnow hit two doubles, Sarah Risinger had three hits and Ashley Hovermale had two hits. Amanda Waltman added three hits and two RBI and Kayla Hill had two RBI.

Kori Atherton had a double, Hannah Lazear and Alisha Commer each had two hits for Clear Spring in the loss.

Southern Fulton 8, Tussey Mountain 2

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Keena Elbin had three hits and two RBI and Natasha Bard and Emily Garland had two hits each as Southern Fulton defeated Tussey Mountain in a Sideling Hill League game.

Kelly Elbin had five strikeouts and picked up the complete-game victory for the Indians (5-1, 2-1).

Greencastle 12, Harrisburg 2

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Brittany Main pitched a one-hitter and Kayla Pond had a two-run homer as Greencastle defeated Harrisburg (0-3, 0-3) in a Mid-Penn Capital game.

Katy Bobbitt had three RBI for the Blue Devils (4-1, 2-0).

Hedgesville 19, Clarke County 4

BERRYVILLE, Va. - Chelsie Oals had four hits and three RBI and Sam Nazelrod homered and had three RBI as Hedgesville totalled 21 hits in a win over Clarke County (2-5).

Brittany Kolb had three hits and three RBI, Sara Forney had three hits and Heather Payne, Ciera Nicholson and Sam Mumaw each had two hits for the Eagles (11-1).

Waynesboro 7, Big Spring 2

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Taryn Ashway struck out 11 and added a home run to lead Waynesboro over Big Spring (3-2, 1-2) in a Mid-Penn Colonial game.

Emily Masters added two RBI for the Maidens (3-0, 2-0).


St. James 10, Madeira 4

SAINT JAMES - Caroline Salisbury had four goals, Meredith Leachman and Anna Morrow each had two goals, and Gina Clapp and Se Young Lee added one goal apiece for St. James. Lee added one assist, and Allie Merriott had nine saves on 13 shots.

South 9, Brunswick 8

BRUNSWICK - Susan Gore, Jena Mannick, Brittany Jones and Amy Raniser each had two goals for South Hagerstown and Carrissa Kesler added one goal. Aleah Kimmel had two assists, and Kessler and Ransier each had one assist. Kaitlin Trump had 11 saves for the Rebels.


Greencastle 4, James Buchanan 0

JAMES BUCHANAN - Chelsea Wolf, Kaytie Johnson, Randa Bingaman, and Kristy Fisher each had a goal for Greencastle. Wolf had three assists and Caroline Gleason added an assist.
