A man with a gun stole a van from a Hagerstown man who had parked the vehicle at the 7-Eleven on Salem Avenue on Tuesday, the Hagerstown Police Department said.

Police said they were looking for a dark green 1995 Ford Windstar with West Virginia license plates.

A black man in his mid- to late-20s with a gold tooth approached the victim after 2 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot and told him he was taking his belongings, police said.

The victim, who was standing outside his van at the time of the robbery, told police he saw the robber drive off in the van, which turned left onto Linganore Avenue after making a left onto Central Avenue, then an immediate right into the alley that runs parallel to Salem Avenue, police said.

The robber is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 270 pounds, and he is considered armed and dangerous, police said. He was wearing a black hat and hooded sweat shirt, police said.
