Robbery reported today on I-70 ramp



A robbery on Interstate 70 was reported at 3 a.m. this morning, according to Lt. Mark Knight of the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

The victim said a man flagged him down at the eastbound ramp of I-70 to Clear Spring Road. When the victim stopped, the robber showed a handgun and demanded money, Knight said.

The robber was described as a white man, about 6 feet tall and around 30 years old wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, Knight said. The robber was driving either a Ford Taurus or Tempo described as silver or gray and took about $20, Knight said.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls, according to Lt. Mark Knight:

Friday, April 6

· At, 3 p.m., damage to a vehicle was reported in the 11000 block of Selema Drive. A window was broken on a 1983 Ford.

Saturday, April 7

· At 10:30 a.m., a 2007 Polaris Ranger was reported stolen in the 14800 block of Hicksville Road.

· At 4 p.m., damage was reported in the first block of South Main Street in Boonsboro. Three windows were broken on a garage.

· At 5:30 p.m., a breaking and entering was reported in the 16500 block of Fairview Road. A black-and-yellow Polaris Scrambler four-wheeler was reported stolen.

· At 8 p.m., a $250 engagement ring was reported stolen from a 1996 Ford van in the 16200 block of McGregor Drive.

Sunday, April 8

· At 1 p.m., a vehicle tag was reported stolen from a Ford Mustang in the 18600 block of Donald Street. The tag number is Maryland 5CAK48.

· At 7:30 p.m., two bicycles were stolen from the front porch of a home in the 16800 block of Sterling Road.

Today

· At 6 a.m., damage was reported in the 100 block of Stouffer Avenue. A window was broken on a van.




Men face charges after police stop



Two men were charged with felony theft Friday night after police stopped them in a 2002 Nissan Maxima that had been reported stolen, the Hagerstown Police Department said.

The driver, Paul Michael Krot, 30, of no fixed address, was searched, police said in a news release. Officers found cocaine, a digital scale and $315 in cash, police alleged. Krot was charged with felony theft, theft of a motor vehicle, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

The passenger, Leonard James Stottlemyer, 32, of 76 Madison Ave., Hagerstown, was charged with felony theft and theft of a motor vehicle, police said.




Dollar General store robbed in Pa.



McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Police are investigating the theft of multiple items from a Dollar General store in Todd Township, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said. The theft took place March 22, police said.

John Deere Gator stolen in Pa.

NEEDMORE, Pa. - A John Deere Gator was stolen from a home in the 3800 block of Wertzville Road in Needmore, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Anyone with information about the theft, which happened Friday or Saturday, may call police at 1-717-485-3131.




Woman injured in Pa. vehicle crash



McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - A 31-year-old McConnellsburg woman was injured when the vehicle she was driving left the road, entered a front yard and struck a stationary vehicle.

April Cromwell, of 640 E. Maple St., was wearing her seat belt when the accident happened at 9:56 a.m. Friday on PumpStation Road. She sustained minor injuries, police said.




Rocks thrown through vehicle's windows



WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Rocks were thrown through windows of a vehicle over the weekend on Buck Valley Road in Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Police said the rock-throwing happened Friday or Saturday in the 14900 block of Buck Valley Road.
