Anna Catherine "Kenny" Grove was honored at an 85th birthday party March 17 at Zion Lutheran Church in Williamsport, hosted by son Jeff and daughter-in-law Kendra. Attending were 85 family members and friends.

Her family included two sons, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren as well as three sisters, a brother and their families. Family members braved the unexpected snowstorm, many traveling from Connecticut.

The social hall was decorated in Mrs. Grove's favorite color, pink. Guests enjoyed a photo table spanning her life. Jeff read a short history of Anna's life and welcomed others to add their own stories.Brother-in-law Walter Bills gave the blessing after which guests enjoyed a buffet luncheon followed by cake. Anna enjoyed visiting with everyone, many of whom she had not seen in recent years.

Mrs. Grove was born in Hagerstown on March 16, 1922, one of six children of the late Charles and Rae Goetz. The family included three sisters, Edith Shook of Waynesboro, Pa.; Mildred Myers Wilson of Hagerstown and Rebecca Bills of Milford, Conn.; brother Samuel Goetz of Bridgeport, Conn.; and the late Richard Goetz, who died in childhood. She met the late Neal Grove in 1941 and they were married in October 1945. They had two sons: Charles Grove of Sandy Hook, Va., and Jeffrey Grove of Hagerstown, with whom she now resides.
