On March 25, Alpha Sigma Lambda, the national honor society for adult students, inducted 17 new members into the Mount St. Mary's University Mu Sigma chapter.

Inductees for 2007 were Glenda L. Alberstadt, Candice S. Corbett, Kathryn Carmine Dao, Jason A. Dean, Ferne Miller, Steven Clark Oden and Steven W. Orlowski, all from Frederick, Md.; Denise J. Apple of Falling Waters, W.Va.; Robert Eric Bower of New Market, Md.; Kara Lynne Burdette of Rockville, Md; Erin B. Code of Thurmont, Md.; Lisa Ferris and Abigail E. Wiles, both from Smithsburg; Shane Ryan McQuitty of Jefferson, Md.; Mary Michele Pearson of Westminster, Md.; Shannon M. Rill of Hanover, Pa.; and Pandy Tomko of Waynesboro, Pa.

Alpha Sigma Lambda recognizes the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work.

The Mount St. Mary's University Division of Continuing Studies offers bachelor's degree completion programs in business, education and criminal justice as well as graduate programs in business and education. Courses are offered at the Mount's Frederick campus as well as on the main campus in Emmitsburg, Md., and in Westminster and Hagerstown.
