The Kirkpatricks

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Robert Kirkpatrick Jr. of Williamsport celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 13, 2006. An anniversary dinner was held in their honor April 7, 2006, at Always Ron's Restaurant in Hagerstown.

The Kirkpatricks were married at St. Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church in Hagerstown in 1956. The Rev. F. Berry Plummer officiated the ceremony.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick is the former Patricia Louise Mantz, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mantz. She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1952. She worked for Pangborn Corporation for many years and, after taking time off, worked for J.B. Lippincott until her retirement in 1996.


Mr. Kirkpatrick is the son of the late Harold R. and Vivian Kirkpatrick Sr. He attended Hagerstown High School before entering the U.S. Army. He was employed with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 307, for several years until his retirement in 1994.

Joe and Donna Trovinger of Hagerstown, who served as best man and maid of honor for the Kirkpatricks, were guests at the anniversary celebration.

The dinner was given by the Kirkpatricks' daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Nicholas Hill Jr. of Clear Spring, and their granddaughters Danielle and Madison Hill.

The Mosiers

Mr. and Mrs. William Mosier of Hancock were honored by their sons and daughter-in-law, Lynn Mosier, Stuart Mosier and Stacy Mosier with a 50th wedding anniversary celebration Dec. 2, 2006, held in the ballroom of the Hancock American Legion. The event was attended by a host of family members and friends from the Tri-State area.

The milestone celebration included dinner, dancing and a slide presentation that journeyed from memories of the couple's grandparents through highlights of their 50 years together. Those years also were reflected in a display of original wedding attire, family pictures and a 1956 calendar plate.

Participating ministers were their pastor, the Rev. Duane Jensen of Hancock United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Allan Weatherholt Jr. of Saint Thomas' Episcopal Church in Hancock, where the Mosiers were married Dec. 23, 1956, by the Rev. Joseph Clair, now deceased.

A keepsake portrait mat, which served as the guest register was presented to the honorees by Bill and Margie Allgyer of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. The anniversary cake was baked by Betty Austin of Little Orleans, who shared serving honors with Janet McKinley of Hancock. Music was provided by the Tom Skidmore Trio of Frostburg, Md.

Dottie Mosier, the former Dorothy Cubbage, is the daughter of the late Rosalie Barnhart. She retired from the Town of Hancock.

Bill "Moose" Mosier is theson of the late John and Fan-nie Fisher Mosier. He served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, during the Korean War and retired fromU.S. Silica in Berkeley Springs.

Both are lifelong residents of Hancock. They have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
