Simane installed as pastor at Christ Lutheran Church

The Rev. Michael Robert Simane was installed as the new pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, 216 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown, during the morning worship service on Feb. 25.

The installation was conducted by the Rev. Quentin Fleming, dean of the ELCA churches of Washington County.

Simane will graduate from the Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary in May. He was ordained by the Bishop Gerald Knoche at Trinity Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, in December.

Prior to attending seminary, Simane owned his own photography business, Si Photographic. He also served in the Navy aboard the USS Nimitz.

A native of Chicago, Simane resides in Smithsburg with his wife, Tracey (Knight) Simane, and daughters Hanna and Jenna.

Christ Lutheran Church Sunday worship times are 8:15 a.m. for contemporary worship with the praise band; 9:30 a.m. Sunday School; and 10:45 a.m. traditional worship with the senior choir.
