The real reason for Easter

To the editor:

Easter is fast approaching and ladies and little ladies will adorn themselves in pretty dresses and hats and attend events such as church services. Alot of children will decorate Easter eggs in which hundreds will be hidden for children to look for with their Easter baskets and the appearance of the Easter bunny. We have so many make believe visitors year round, Santa, tooth fairy, witches and goblins, the Easter bunny but less is being taught about the real reason of Easter. Jesus born of a virgin Mary, crucified on a cross for preaching, healing the sick, raising the dead all done for us. Not just for the people of Bible time but for all of us now!! Then on the third day He, Jesus, arose from the dead and lives forever more. Who one day coming soon is coming back and look at the mess this world is in. Crime, war, drugs, hatred, God doesn't judge by race, religion, sex. He created us all, we are all God's children. Religion is being put to the test, no prayers in school, no prayer at school events, people trying to ignore Jesus ever existed yet He always will forever. We only need God when convenient for us, loss of loved one, emergencies, health, natural disasters. You see cell phones everywhere in school, social events, vehicles, people always needing to talk or some emergency, but who prays for Jesus to listen doesn't cost anything. Like our earthly fathers who only want to the best for their children, people that's all Jesus wants. The Bible says live each day as your last , one day at a time. How many hours does Jesus get from us. Wake up America, Jesus is alive and well.

Easter is a blessed event but the best is yet to come. Every eye shall see and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. God said it, I believe it, that settles it. The Bible needs read more over and over. We have al studied for a test, well study the Bible and be ready. So go to church on Easter and remember the real meaning.

Fighting for morality

To the editor:

First I would like to apologize to G.F. Miller on behalf of myself and all Christians for leading you and others to believe we want people to go to hell. I assure you, we do not.

Second, about the list of people you said God was not going to "roast."

What does God say?

Revelation 21-8 says - Out cowards, those who refuse to believe, who do evil things, who kill, who sin sexually, who do evil magic, who worship idols, and who tells lies - all these will have a place in the lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. Gods list sounds a whole lot like yours, doesn't it?

Now I would like to voice my opinion about the bill Del. Leroy Myers has proposed. Thank you so much for having the courage to stand up for what is morally right. I would like to ask all Christians to get behind Mr. Myers 100 percent. Let us all pray for it to be passed. I know a lot of you have been laughing about it and trying to make it seem worthless and a waste of time. But it is more serious than you know. You see a deadly cancer starts with one very small and seemingly harmless cell, but left untreated it kills. This is no different.

What does God say?

Ephesians 5-4 says - Also, there must be no evil among you and you must not speak foolishly or tell evil jokes. These things are not right for you - instead, you should be giving thanks to God.

In God we trust,

Bible teaches of lake of fire

To the Editor:

This is in response to G.F. Miller's letter about a fiery hell being malarkey and not fact. As I write this, being a Christian, a child of God, what I'm about to say is said in Christian love, with no hate intended.

What the Apostle John says in Revelation, chapter 21, verse 4, (Note: chapter and verse are very important in making this point) is to those who are born again, who have a savior in Jesus Christ. This is NOT meant for the unbeliever, the lost.

Mr. Miller, the book of Revelation clearly tells us in chapter 14, verse 11, (again, chapter and verse very important in making point) all the unsaved, those who are NOT born again, who worship the beast will be cast into the Lake of Fire, where they will be tormented day and night forever and ever, this is God's Word.

If you take Scripture out of context, you can make it say anything you want. Hell is described as a furnace of fire, an eternal fire, an unquenchable fire, where people will be tormented, consumed by fire, and suffer eternal destruction.

Jesus teaches this in Matthew as well as 15 other books in the Bible. Ask God for understanding of His Word. He will gladly show you. Any of the people mentioned in your letter, including myself, would be happy (if this is your desire) to help you find the truth. In closing, I ask yo to please NOT take the subject of hell lightly, for it is very literal and very real. God Bless You.
