Roy Rogers plans Community Night

Community Night will be held at the Roy Rogers restaurant in downtown Hagerstown on April 14 to help raise funds for Trinity Bible Youth Group.

The event will be at the restaurant at 100 N. Burhans Blvd. in Hagerstown from 5 to 8 p.m.

Grace Academy to observe day of prayer

Grace Academy, a private Christian school at 13321 Cearfoss Pike in Hagerstown, will observe National Day of Prayer on May 3. Community residents are invited to participate in the observance from noon to 1 p.m.

National Day of Prayer is sponsored by the Evangelical Christian Leaders Network.

BPO Elks plans money bonanza

BPO Elks Lodge 378, at 11063 Robinwood Drive in Hagerstown, will have a Money Bonanza on May 6. Tickets cost $25. One ticket admits the ticketholder and one guest.


Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the bar opens at noon. There will be free mixed drinks (no shaker or top shelf), free sodas and bottled beer. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.

The grand prize is $3,000, with 30 other cash prizes to be awarded. There will be tip jars, 50/50 raffles and door prizes. Proceeds benefit youth programs and charitable requests.

Ministry schedules pig roast fundraiser

Shepherd's Spring Outdoor Ministry, at 16869 Taylors Landing Road in Sharpsburg, will hold a pig roast fundraising dinner April 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the camp.

The menu includes pulled pork, hot dogs, baked beans, applesauce, chips, homemade cookies, ice tea and lemonade. The cost is $12 per person, rain or shine. Tours of the facility will also be available.

The dedication of the open-air greenhouse will be at 3:30 p.m.

Directions from I-70 east or west: Take Exit 29, Md. 65 south toward Sharpsburg. Drive 7.5 miles to Taylors Landing Road and turn right (west). Follow Taylors Landing Road 2.3 miles to the center's entrance on the left.

Directions from I-81 north or south: Take Exit 1 and go east on Md. 68 until you come to Md. 65. Turn right (south) and drive 3.5 miles. Turn right (west) onto Taylors Landing Road and go 2.3 miles to the center's entrance on the left.
