Fundraisers aid Safe Place

April 02, 2007

In March, two fundraisers were held to support the Washington County Child Advocacy Center, also known as The Safe Place, at the Walnut Street Medical Center in Hagerstown.

On March 11, the Home Builders Association of Washington County hosted the third annual benefit concert and auction at Hagerstown Community College in support of the Child Advocacy Center. The concert featured local recording artist Tori Anderson and Possum Holler, and nationally known recording artist Exile. Signed, autographed memorabilia was auctioned throughout the evening, with the proceeds going to the center.

On March 16, Friends of Safe Place Inc. held an Evening of Comedy and Magic at The Maryland Theatre. A touring magic show, featuring magicians Antje Pode, Ron Geoffries, Tony Chapek, Jay Sterling and Lynn Trefzger, made its first stop in Hagerstown.

The proceeds of the event, sponsor donations and ticket sales will support the center in providing services for children and families.
