McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Sixty-seven workers affected by JLG Industries' move of its ServicePlus Mid-Atlantic operations from McConnellsburg will be offered positions at the Bedford, Pa., facility, company officials said this week.

"This is just a relocation, so we're offering all the 67 employees jobs at the new location," said Heidi Stoner, who manages JLG's communications and marketing.

JLG has two facilities in the Bedford area, one of which shut down earlier this decade when the economy was struggling, she said. It is that plant on Weber Lane that will house ServicePlus, which reconditions JLG equipment.

"We have a lot of our customers who can do a certain amount of service on the machines, but can't do everything," Stoner said.

Stoner referred to before-and-after pictures on www.jlgserviceplus.com that demonstrate the company's reconditioning capabilities.

Stoner felt that while some employees might be driving 40 miles to Bedford from McConnellsburg, others already might live closer to the new plant.

JLG, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Truck Corp., manufactures construction equipment such as scissor lifts, vertical mast lifts and telehandlers. It has approximately 2,500 employees in McConnellsburg.
