Air Force Airman Christopher A. Cannon, son of Michelle Spessard of Greencastle, Pa., and grandson of Donna Cannon of Keedysville, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

He earned distinction as an honor graduate.

Cannon is a 2004 graduate of Boonsboro High School.




Air Force Airman Lauren A. McGowan, daughter of Dawn McGowan of Imperial Beach, Calif., and niece of Jeannie Hessler of Frederick, Md., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

McGowan is a 2004 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School, Frederick.




Pvt. Craig A. Fazenbaker, son of Brenda Williams, stepson of David Williams and Patrick Fazenbaker, stepson of Tracey Fazenbaker, brother of Jordan Fazenbaker, Caitlin Fazenbaker and Jenna Fazenbaker, all of Hagerstown, graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps Base, Parris Island, S.C., on March 2.

Fazenbaker will go through infantry training in Jacksonville, N.C.

Fazenbaker is a 2006 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

Air Force Airman Bryan K. Sizemore, son of Janie Williams of Downsville Pike, Hagerstown, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Sizemore is a 2006 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.




Air Force Airman 1st Class Christopher K. Kosko, son of Mike Kosko of Charles Town, W.Va., and Gina Hope of Berryville, Va., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

Kosko is a 2003 graduate of Clarke County High School, Berryville.




Air Force Airman Chris A. Bouma, son of Craig Bouma of Charles Town, W.Va., graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.




Army Spec. Alan R. Keefer, son of Lawrence Keefer of Cool Hollow Road, Greencastle, Pa., graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Keefer is a 2002 graduate of James Buchanan High School, Mercersburg, Pa., and received a bachelor's degree in 2006 from Shippensburg (Pa.) University.




Army Pvt. Kevin E. Sites Jr., son of Kevin Sites Sr. of Waynesboro, Pa., and Kimberly Hardy of York Springs, Pa., graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky.

Sites is a 2006 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School.




Army Pvt. Robert S. Hamilton, son of Brenda S. Hamilton of Martinsburg, W.Va., graduated from the Parachute Rigger Course at the 262nd Quartermaster Battalion, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

Hamilton is a 2005 graduate of Martinsburg High School.




Army National Guard Pfc. Aaron A. Lynch, son of Nancy J. Lynch of Chambersburg, Pa., graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

Lynch is a 2006 graduate of James Buchanan High School, Fort Loudon, Pa.




Army Pfc. Jason M. Etter, son of Laurean Etter of Waynesboro, Pa., and Barbara Reeves of Greencastle, Pa., graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Etter graduated in 1999 from Waynesboro Area Senior High School, and received an associate degree in 2006 from Hagerstown Business College.




Kevin C. Pelletier, son of Kevin J. and Marion S. Pelletier of Williamsport, received a three-year Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) scholarship to attend Virginia Military Institute, Lexington.

After graduation, the cadet will be required to serve in the military for eight years. The obligation can be fulfilled by serving either on active duty and/or in the Army National Guard or Reserve.

Pelletier will pursue a degree in international studies.

Pelletier graduated from Williamsport High School in 2004.




Army Pvt. Michael P. Twigg, son of Patrick A. Twigg of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., graduated from Phase I of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) course at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala.

The course is designed to train soldiers to detect, identify and disarm non-nuclear explosive ordnance, and assist with disposal of munitions and explosive devices, fuels and oxidizers; assist in detecting, researching and identifying chemical and biological agents; and locate, gain access, and dispose of buried ordnance, land mines and other explosive devices. The student received the skills and knowledge required to understand fundamentals of basic electronics, maintenance and use of EOD tools and kits, and hazardous material transportation procedures.

Twigg is a 2004 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.
