A Lifesaver

S.A.L.T. Council and Triad of Washington County will sponsor a free seminar for seniors, "Lifesaver and More," from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at AMVETS Post 10, 770 Frederick St., Hagerstown. Use the side entrance. The facilitator will be Dan Watson. There will be refreshments and prizes.

Infusion therapy seminar

Hagerstown Community College Center for Continuing Education will offer a seminar for health professionals titled "Nursing Management and Complication Assessment Related to Infusion Therapy," on Friday, March 30, from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Kepler Theater.

The seminar will discuss current nursing standards of practice related to IV therapy, documentation strategies for clinical information and legal protection, and identifying high risk areas for patient injuries related to IV therapy.

The program will be led by Susan Masoorli, an expert in infusion therapy and vascular access devices with more than 30 years of infusion experience in both hospital and homecare settings.


Cost for the seminar is $49. Nurses and nurse practitioners are eligible for 7.5 contact hours. To register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.

End-of-life conference

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.- The Marsha McCullough, RN, End-of-Life Conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Clarion Hotel and Conference Center. This year's topic is "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder at the End of Life: Hidden Wounds."

The registration fee is $60, $35 for Veterans Affairs employees and students. The fee includes lunch. Deadline to register is Wednesday, April 4.
