Centra Bank

SuZanne Glocker has joined the board of directors of Centra Bank.

Glocker is the principal owner of The Glocker Group Realty Results, a locally owned real estate company. She has more than 25 years of experience in the business community, the last 16 in real estate.

Bowers Insurance

Kristi Shank, an executive assistant at Bowers Insurance, recently earned the registered paraplanner (RP) designation.

The Registered Paraplanner Professional Designation Program provides practical knowledge of the financial planning process and the disciplines of financial planning, including financial statements and cash flow management, time value of money, equities and tax instruments, retirement planning and tax planning.

Recipients of the RP designation must complete the course of study and pass a final exam offered by the College for Financial Planning in Denver.


Shank, of Sharpsburg, joined Bowers Insurance in October 2004. She works closely with financial advisory clients, employee benefits clients, and life and health insurance clients. She is a graduate of Hagerstown Business College.

Property Management People Inc.

FREDERICK, Md. - Elizabeth Betancourt, community manager for the Frederick office of Property Management People Inc. (PMP), recently was named certified manager of Community Associations by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM).

Betancourt joins more than 3,100 CMCAs nationwide who have mastered the fundamental knowledge necessary to manage condominium, cooperative and homeowners associations.

Betancourt, of Hagerstown, has a bachelor of science degree from San Jose State University in California and has five years of property management experience.

To obtain the CMCA credential, a manager must successfully complete a 16-hour classroom course, the Essentials of Community Association Management, and pass the National Certification Examination.

Kelley Agency

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Gary Kelley, owner of Kelley Agency on Lakeview Drive in Martinsburg, W.Va., was named the runner-up in the Allstate Insurance Co.'s 2006 Best in the Company performance award program.

The program honors outstanding year-long performance among the company's 12,428 exclusive agencies countrywide.

Kelley, who is in his second year as an Allstate agency owner, had 25 years in management at another insurance company.

Advantage Realty

Adam Ward and Shirley Ortega-Haymes have joined Advantage Realty.

Ward has a bachelor's degree in business from Shenandoah University and recently worked as the political assistant to the attorney general of Virginia.

Ortega-Haymes, who was born and raised in Lima, Peru, graduated from Avia Academy as a tourism manager, and later attended Fedenco Villarreal University. She worked as a business consultant until 2004, when she moved to the United States.


The Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown recognized two correctional officers, Joseph Charette and Todd Ernewein, as Employees of the Month.

These officers were instrumental in the pursuit of an inmate who escaped from the custody of a Baltimore area facility. They also provided assistance in taking the escapee back into custody, according to a prepared release.

Charette has worked for the State of Maryland since 1995 and Ernewein since 1996.


Amanda Ferguson, LPN, and Tina Tenent, CMA, were named Employees of the Month for March at the Maryland Correctional Training Center.

Ferguson, a licensed practical nurse, and Tenent, a certified medication aide, are employed by Correctional Medical Services, which provides services for the State of Maryland, and are assigned to the Dispensary Unit.

They were instrumental in assisting several correctional officers with a difficult inmate in the dispensary. Their professional assessment of the situation aided in the results of a positive result, according to a prepared release.

Ferguson has been employed with Correctional Medical Services since 2005. Tenent has been employed with Correctional Medical Services since 2004 and is working on her RN credentials at Hagerstown Community College.

CTX Mortgage

Theresa Falcone and Johnna Maravelis, mortgage financial planners with CTX Mortgage in Hagerstown, have passed the qualifying exams to earn the designation certified mortgage planning specialist (CMPS), granted by the CMPS Institute of Ann Arbor, Mich.

The CMPS Institute is a training and certifying organization created to help mortgage professionals integrate financial planning concepts into the mortgage process.

CMPS designees can offer clients strategies that encompass mortgages, debt, home equity and real estate investment.
