New post office open in South End

March 21, 2007|by TAMELA BAKER

Postal customers in Hagerstown's South End have a new option for buying stamps and sending mail.

The U.S. Postal Service is running a new post office, called a contract postal unit, at E.L. Jones & Sons, a model train shop at 1075 Maryland Ave. in the South End Shopping Center.

The center offers a full line of postal services, according to Hagerstown Post Master Craig Miner, including Express Mail service, Priority Mail service, special service, packaging products and postage stamps.

The new office will "give our South End customers better access, and cut down on the traffic in our downtown office," Miner said.

The new post office is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
