Otterbein United Methodist Church, 549 N. Queen St., Martinsburg, W.Va., today a winter carnival will begin at 5:30 p.m. with games, prizes, magic by Michael T and free food.

Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg, Pa., a dozen area churches are continuing a Cumberland Valley Spirit-Life Conference at the facilities today and Sunday, featuring guest speakers.

Pastor Tony Evans will be speaking today at 9 a.m. with additional programs at 1 and 6 p.m.

The theme is the nature and role of the Holy Spirit in the church community.

Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, 13343 Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, Pa., Barb & Friends will present their puppet ministry this Sunday at 7 p.m.

Boonsboro High School, the Mennonite comedy team of Ted and Lee will be performing Monday, March 18, at 7 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Manor Church of the Brethren.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, the annual community Lenten services in the Smithsburg area will be held every Tuesday during Lent, beginning at noon.


Following the services, a soup luncheon will be shared at the church.

This week's speaker is the Rev. Mark Mooney of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Smithsburg.

St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock, on Wednesdays during Lent, there will be a potluck supper and fellowship at 6:30 p.m. in Parish Hall followed at 7:30 p.m. by prayer and Lenten preaching.

Baha'i, a special celebration of the Baha'i New Year will be held March 21 at Country Inn and Suites at the Valley Mall from 6 to 10 p.m.

On March 24, also at Country Inn, Celeste Dixon will be speaking at 6 p.m.

Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church, 11507 Robinwood Drive, Religion teacher Darwin Whitman will present a series of six free seminars on the Old Testament beginning March 24.

St. Paul's Reformed Church, Clear Spring, a soup and sandwich sale will be held Saturday, March 24 from noon to 5 p.m.

The sale will be held inside the church and those who attend may eat in or take out.

Lutheran Ridge Retirement Community, Chambersburg, Pa., a free 12-hour congregational health ministry/parish nurse training course will begin Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Additional classes are April 2, 9 and 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. Congregations may send either a nurse or other members interested in promoting
