History in Jeopardy!

March 17, 2007

Mount St. Mary's University Professor Scott Weiss helped make quiz show history Friday night during his third-round Jeopardy! appearance.

Although Weiss, an assistant professor in the university's math and computer science department, did not solely win the Friday match, he was part of the quiz show's first-ever three-way tie.

Each of the three contestants in the Friday game evened out their totals to $16,000 by correctly answering Bonnie Parker to the "Women of the 1930s" Final Jeopardy! question: "One of the men who shot her realized when he saw her body that she'd often waited on him at a cafe in Dallas."

The Walkersville, Md., resident took home three-day winnings of $61,000.
