CEARFOSS - The body of an adult male found Tuesday morning on Md. 58 west of Shinham Road has been identified as Melvin Leroy Yingling III, 42, of no fixed address, according to Washington County Sheriff's Department investigators.

Yingling was a resident of Washington County but was homeless, Investigator Tara Bender said.

He was released from Maryland Correctional Training Center in September 2006, according to George Gregory, a Department of Corrections spokesman.

Yingling served two years for larceny, Gregory said.

Yingling was found wearing a double layer of winter clothes, and he was wrapped in a blanket, Bender said.

Workers from Maryland Correctional Training Center were picking up trash when they found Yingling's body at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

The body was over an embankment when workers found it.

Yingling's body showed no obvious signs of trauma or internal injuries, and he probably died from exposure, Sheriff Douglas Mullendore said Wednesday.

The medical examiner will not rule on a cause of death until the toxicology report is in, Mullendore said.

Anyone with information about Yingling may call Bender at 240-313-2885.
