Ad hoc committe to review city charter

March 14, 2007|by DAN DEARTH

The Hagerstown City Council officially will appoint an ad hoc committee March 27 to review the city's charter and recommend possible changes.

Five of the six members of the committee tentatively were named Tuesday afternoon. The council's five members and the mayor are permitted to appoint one person each to the committee.

Councilwoman Alesia D. Parson-McBean did not make an appointment because she is attending an out-of-town seminar.

The committee will have one year to make suggestions, which must be approved by the council, Mayor Robert E. Bruchey II said.

According to city documents, the committee nominees are Doug Wright, John Dunlap, Ken Krell, Noel Brady and Anthony Campello.
