Martinsburg man convicted on drug possession charge

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A federal jury on Friday convicted a Martinsburg man of possession with intent to distribute 7.52 grams of crack cocaine, according to a press release from the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Carlton Joseph Lewis, 25, faces up to life in prison and a fine of up to $4 million, according to the release.

Lewis was indicted for possession of cocaine in Martinsburg in April 2005.

Prior to the trial, the federal government filed a notice that prior convictions against Lewis could affect his sentencing, according to the release.
