What do you like best about your sport? "Being able to challenge myself to do better each time and to drop my time the best I can."

Your greatest accomplishment in your sport? "Being able to swim the 500, which is the longest event in high school swimming. It's 20 laps long and I just like to be able to improve a little bit each time I do it."

Toughest individual opponent you have faced? "Myself, because you don't really compete against other people. You compete against yourself to see how fast you can go."


Toughest team you have faced? "Mercersburg. They're super and are probably one of the toughest teams in our area."

Other sports? "I also played JV volleyball for two years."

Other activities in school you are involved in? Drama, National Honor Society

Pregame rituals? "I guess just stretching and mentally preparing ourselves for the meet."

Besides your parents, the most influential person in your life? "My violin teacher because she's taught me a lot about patience and learning to improve through practice every day."

Favorite book? "Probably one of the Harry Potter books."

Favorite TV show? "'The Closer.' Best show on TV, I think."

Favorite school subject? "Anatomy, because it's really cool to learn about all the different parts of the body and the way that they function."

Least favorite school subject? Math

Best place to hang out? "Brother's Pizza or Port City Java."
