Fraley throws second 300 game of season at Southside

Rick Fraley threw his second 300 game of the season in the Friday Night Mixed League on Feb. 16 at Southside Bowl in Hagerstown. He rounded out his 684 set with games of 191 and 193. He will receive a small plaque from the house.

In the Monday Triples Duckpin League on Feb. 19, Dwayne Weaver rolled a 197 game, 87 pins over his 110 average. From the house, he will receive $25 for rolling 75 pins over his average. He finished with a 413 set. This is Weaver's first year bowling in this league and he credits teammates John Taylor and Daryl Domer for keeping him focused.

In the Southside Bowl Senior Citizen Duckpin League on Feb. 22, Lois Sease rolled a 173 game, more than doubling her 86 average. Sease marked in seven frames. She will receive a $25 house award from Southside Bowl for bowling 65 pins over her average.

On March 4, Southside hosted the Marvin Shupp Memorial King of the Hill for duckpin bowlers. Jeff Covell led the 48 entrants with a tournament-high game of 180. Wally Tracy was high qualifier with a 960 set. In the stepladder results, Kathy Green defeated Katie Baker (139-135), Vern Cline (128-123) and Marvin Durboraw (175-156). Tracy defeated Green in the final (161-140).

In other duckpin news, Ted Stevens rolled a 181 game in the Saturday Night Mixed League. Stevens shot 75 pins over his 106 average. He will receive $25 from the house and will receive an award from the NDBC.

Jeff Kirby rolled a 200 game in the Fun Bunch League. Kirby will receive an award from the USBC for rolling a 200 game.

In tenpin news, Robin Barton shot a 265 game in the Tuesday Night Mixed League. She will receive $25 from the house for shooting a game of 265 or higher. She will also receive $25 from the house for rolling 100 pins over her average in one game and will receive an award from the USBC.

Barb Story bowled a 653 set in the Saturday Night Mixed League. Story will receive $25 from the house for shooting 150 pins over her average set. Story carries a 166 average.

James Painter threw a 790 set in the Sunday Night Mixed League. Painter's individual games were 242, 290 and 258. He will receive $25 from the house for shooting a 775 or higher set. He also will receive $25 from the house for rolling 150 pins over his average set and will receive awards from the USBC.
