Browning to head advertising at Herald-Mail Co.

March 06, 2007

Michael Browning has been promoted to the position of advertising director of The Herald-Mail Co., effective March 5.

Browning joined the company in July 2003 as assistant advertising director. In his new role, he will lead The Herald-Mail's advertising department, and ultimately be responsible for all advertising that appears in the newspaper, along with all newspaper-related products and Web sites.

Prior to joining The Herald-Mail, Browning served for a year as advertising director in Chippewa Falls, Wis., for Lee Enterprises, overseeing advertising operations for two newspapers and two weekly shoppers. Before that, he was in Baraboo, Wis., serving six years as regional advertising director for six newspapers and two shopping publications.

"I've been working with businesses for the past 11 years, and have always prided myself on the results they've been able to obtain through their advertising efforts," he said. "I look forward to continuing to work with local businesses and making sure they benefit from their various Herald-Mail advertising programs."
