Cantler-Lingg

Buck and Debi Cantler of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Jane Cantler, to Kyle West Lingg, son of Joe and Debbie Lingg of Hagerstown.

Ms. Cantler is a 2002 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education K-6 from Shepherd University in 2006. She is pursuing a master's degree in administration and supervision at Frostburg State University. She is employed by the Washington County Public Schools System as a fifth-grade teacher at Emma K. Doub School for the Integrated Arts and Technology.

Mr. Lingg is a 1998 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He received an associates degree from Hagerstown Community College in 2001 and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and History from Salisbury University in 2003. He is pursuing a master's degree in administration and supervision at Frostburg State University. He is employed by the Washington County Public Schools as a seventh-grade social studies teacher at Boonsboro Middle School and varsity girls soccer coach at Boonsboro High School.

Cobb-Wissinger

Tiffany Anne Cobb and Daniel Ronald Wissinger announce their engagement.

Ms. Cobb is the daughter of Robert Cobb Jr. of Hagerstown and Meri Cobb Wydysh of Falling Waters, W.Va. Mr. Wissinger is the son of Mark and Deborah Wissinger of Johnstown, Pa.

Ms. Cobb is a 2002 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and received an associate of nursing degree from Hagerstown Community College in 2006. She is enrolled at the University of Maryland in the family nurse practitioner master's degree program. She is employed as a registered nurse in the medical surgical unit at Waynesboro Hospital.

Mr. Wissinger is a 1999 graduate of Ferndale High School in Johnstown and received a bachelor's degree in special education from Lock Haven University in 2004. He is pursuing a master's degree in administration and as a reading specialist from Frostburg State University and the University of Scranton. He is employed as an elementary special education teacher with Waynesboro Area School District.

A July 7, 2007, wedding is planned.




Boward-Myers

Carolyn Diana Boward of Williamsport and Timothy Marshall Myers of Frederick, Md., announce their engagement.

Miss Boward is a 1976 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. She is employed by Alice's Home & Cottage in Hagerstown and Lowes of Hagerstown.

Mr. Myers is a 1972 graduate of Gaithersburg High School. He is employed by Central Maryland International Trucks in Frederick.

No wedding date has been set.




Leon-Ramirez

Matthew and Kelly Jacobson of Orlando, Fla., announce the engagement of their son, Cpl. Aaron Jacobson, to Crystal Leon, daughter of Miguel and Alicia Ramirez of Escondido, Calif.

Ms. Leon is a 2006 graduate of Temecula Valley High School in Temecula Valley, Calif.

Cpl. Jacobson is a 2003 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and is serving in the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

A July 2008 wedding is planned in California.




Peters-Bowman

Mr. and Mrs. David Peters of Harrisonburg, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Peters, to Todd Bowman, son of Frank and Susan Bowman of Boonsboro.

Miss Peters is a graduate of Spotswood High School and received a bachelor's degree in piano performance from Shenandoah University. She is a piano teacher and serves as organist for Grace United Methodist Church in Middletown, Va.

Mr. Bowman is a graduate of Boonsboro High School and received degrees in sociology, religion and administration of justice from Shenandoah University. He is employed by Timer Ridge School and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

A June 9, 2007, wedding is planned.




Burtner-Fuss

Leroy and Sandy Burtner of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Hope Amanda Burtner, to David Michael Fuss, son of Michael and Donna Fuss of Hagerstown.

Miss Burtner is a 1994 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and received a bachelor's degree in education from Elon University in 1998. She completed a master's in curriculum and instruction and an administrative credential from Chapman University in California. She is employed as an elementary school assistant principal in Oakley, Calif.

Mr. Fuss is a 1994 graduate of Williamsport High School and received a bachelor's degree in communication from Goucher College in 1998. He is employed as a territory manager for Black & Decker in San Francisco.

Newkirk-Badstibner

James and Melissa Newkirk of Boonsboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Sue Ann Newkirk, to Kyle Douglas Badstibner, son of Kurt and Kimberly Badstibner of Pittsburgh.

Ms. Newkirk is a 2003 graduate of Williamsport High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Frostburg State University in 2006. She is employed as an eighth-grade math teacher at Smithsburg Middle School.

Mr. Badstibner is a 2003 graduate of East Allegheny High School. He is employed with the U.S. Navy and is stationed in California.

A Sept. 20, 2007, wedding is planned.
