'Laramie Project' auditions set in Pa.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Gettysburg Stage is holding an audition for roles in its April production of "The Laramie Project." Some roles were cast during summer auditions, but men and women, ages 18 to 70, are welcome to try out.

Auditions will start at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Keefauver Center, 157 Lefever St. in Gettysburg. Directions are at Rehearsals begin Tuesday, March 20, and show dates are April 13, 14, 20 and 21. The director is Pamela Hurlbert.

Auditions set for 'Pied Piper'

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Council for the Arts announces the return of Missoula Children's Theatre, Monday, March 5, through Saturday, March 10.

Auditions for Missoula's production of "The Pied Piper" will begin at 4 p.m. Monday in Wilson College's Laird Hall. Students in kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to audition for the nearly 50 parts available.


No acting experience is required. Those auditioning should be prepared to begin promptly at 4 p.m. Some cast members will begin rehearsals immediately following the auditions.

Missoula tour directors will also be choosing four to six assistant directors from students in grades eight through 12.

Rehearsals for "The Pied Piper" will be held from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and most of the day Saturday. Those auditioning must be available the entire week.

The cost for participants is $30 and is due on the first rehearsal day following auditions. Some scholarship assistance is available. Call 717-264-6883 or e-mail

Rotz leading class

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Corey Evan Rotz will teach a master class Saturday, Mar ch 10, at 1 p.m. at Wilson College's Thomson Alumnae Chapel, 1015 Philadelphia Ave.

Select Cumberland Valley School of Music voice students will perform a prepared piece for Rotz. He will work with each student individually in an open forum on such things as phrasing, musicality, technique and diction. Community theater seeks practice stage

Due to the fire last fall at Hagerstown Women's Club, Potomac Playmakers is seeking a facility to hold rehearsals for its upcoming productions. Although upcoming productions will be held at Hagerstown Community College, the Playmakers do not have space to hold rehearsals. Potomac Playmakers seeks a church, school, business owner or individual willing to donate rehearsal space three evenings a week between March 11 and May 25.

Auditions set for 'Cinderella' in Pa.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg Community Theatre Inc. will hold auditions for its May production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 12, and Tuesday, March 13, at The Capitol Theatre, 159 S. Main St.

The ability to read music is not necessary, but those who audition will be asked to sing. Roles are available for six women and three men, ages 8 to adult, plus chorus. Rehearsals begin in late March. The show will be staged May 12, 13, 17, 18, 19 and 20.
