On Dec. 13, Shannon Nichols, 9, had 10 inches of her red hair cut off to donate to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that uses donated hair to make hairpieces for children who have lost their own hair. "I like my long hair but other kids need hair more than I do," said Shannon, a fourth-grader at Lincolnshire Elementary School. Wendy Payne cut Shannon's hair at the J.C. Penney hair salon.
