Manito Inc.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Manito Inc., which provides therapeutic and alternative education programs for disruptive youth in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, has joined Wilson College as a community partner at the silver level.

Manito Chief Executive Officer Bob Whitmore presented a check for $500 to Wilson staff members on Jan. 31.

Manito, which celebrates 28 years in business in June, operates in 10 Pennsylvania counties and one in West Virginia and employs 250 people at its combined locations.

The organization's administrative offices are in Chambersburg.

Seven of Manito's 250 employees currently are taking courses at Wilson.

The Community Partner Program at Wilson is designed to forge meaningful partnerships between the college and the community.

Benefits for a Silver Partner, which requires a $500 investment, include a 10 percent discount on tuition, 10 percent discount on use of facilities and four tickets to a cultural event at Wilson. Silver-level partners also are featured on Wilson's Web site.


Blue Ridge Community and Technical College

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in Martinsburg is organizing a Society for Human Resource Management chapter in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle.

The society is devoted to human resource management and provides essential and comprehensive HR resources.

A local chapter will give human resources professionals an opportunity to network, support their profession and participate in professional development activities.

Associate memberships will be available for those interested in human resources but not currently working in that field.
