February 25, 2007

Three Hagerstown residents and a Los Angeles resident were injured Saturday afternoon in a car accident on Leitersburg Pike, Maryland State Police said.

Ann Martines, 29, was driving a 1998 Buick Lesabre north on Leiters Mill Road at 12:42 p.m. when police allege she failed to stop at a stop sign at Leitersburg Pike and drove into the path of a 1999 Chrysler Concorde.

The driver of the Concorde, Stephen Schutte, 21, and his two passengers, Andrew Widmeyer, 20, and Kelly Salvagno, 20, all of Hagerstown, were transported by ambulance to Washington County Hospital for treatment.

Martines, of Los Angeles, was extricated from her vehicle by rescue crews, police said.

Schutte, Widmeyer and Salvagno all had been treated at the hospital and released by Saturday night, a nursing supervisor said.

Martines was listed in good condition at the hospital Saturday night, the nursing supervisor said.
