Four win titles for Panhandle

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Musselman senior Dustin Haislip pinned East Fairmont's Steven Robe in 4:50 in the championship finals at 135 pounds Saturday night to capture his third straight West Virginia Class AAA state title.

Haislip, last year's Herald-Mail Wrestler of the Year, won at 112 as a sophomore and 125 last season.

He was one of four Eastern Panhandle state champs Saturday, each winning by pin.

Musselman's Billy Barrett, who upset two-time state champ Ronnell Green of Wheeling Park on Friday, pinned East Fairmont's Drew Jenkins in 1:26 for the title at 125.

Jefferson's Colton Gustines capped his unbeaten season by pinning East Fairmont's Hunter Wood in 3:49 in the title bout at 112.

In Class AA-A, Berkeley Springs' Cody Reed pinned Ryan Fickiesen of St. Mary's in 2:48 for the title at 189.

Also for the Indians, Derek Hovermale placed second at 103, falling 5-0 to Wheeling Central's Dirk Bauer in the finals, and Tyson Bennett defeated Ritchie County's Chase Hyde 3-1 to place third at 160.

In other Class AAA action, Hedgesville's Billy Forquer took second at 152, falling 8-1 to Ripley's Logan Martin, and Jefferson's Garrick Skubon placed fourth at 130, falling 8-2 to East Fairmont's Jobey Knapton in the third-place bout.
