Bail set for local man charged with assault and drug counts

February 22, 2007

Bail was set Tuesday at $125,000 for a Hagerstown man charged with robbery and several counts of first- and second-degree assault.

Justin Wayne Green, 20, of 929 Frederick St., was subdued by three males Friday night near Tractor Supply Co. on Massey Boulevard after he allegedly pulled a knife as they cornered him, a charging document states.

Green also is charged with drug violations, Washington County District Court records show.

Green allegedly stole a purse from a woman at about 8 p.m. Friday in front of Ollie's Bargain Outlet, then ran. The males chased him behind the tractor store, where he allegedly pulled a knife, but slipped on the ice. One of the males got the knife from Green and broke it, the charging document states.

Green was at Washington County Detention Center Wednesday night, a deputy said.
