Pedestrian struck by car in W.Va. dies

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 32-year-old Martinsburg man who was struck by a car Feb. 14 on Apple Harvest Drive died Monday, the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday.

Scott Franklin McDonald was struck by a Ford station wagon near the Queen Street exit, police said. He was pronounced dead at Washington (D.C.) Hospital Center, police said.

The investigation into the accident was continuing, police said.

McDonald was the second pedestrian to be struck and killed within the last few months in Martinsburg. In October 2006, Marshell Peck, 64, died near the 14000 block of Apple Harvest Drive.
