Teen charged with armed robbery

February 21, 2007

A 17-year-old boy with a last known address in Hagerstown is accused of following another male's car, then robbing him at gunpoint, a charging document states.

On Oct. 12, the victim reported he was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus when he noticed he was being followed by the driver of a blue Ford Taurus.

When the victim pulled over on The Terrace, the suspect got out of the car he was driving and walked to the victim's vehicle, the document states. The suspect got into the victim's car, pointed a dark revolver at the victim, and demanded money and the victim's cell phone, the charging document says.

The suspect got $40 and the victim's cell phone, the document says.

A Washington County Detention Center deputy said the boy was in jail Tuesday night.

The boy is charged with armed robbery, robbery, second-degree assault and theft, court records show.
