Last year was one filled with bridal showers and weddings for five local high school classmates.

The 1997 North Hagerstown High School graduates were all brides in 2006 - and bridesmaids in each of the other four weddings.

Three of the five girls have been friends since elementary school, and the five became friends in middle school, said Cheri Pentoney, mother of one of the women.

They include Shanon Peck Heckman, who was married Jan. 17, 2006, and lives in Sharpsburg.

Sarah Wollard Staley's wedding was April 29, 2006. She and her husband live in Baltimore.

Sept. 9, 2006, was the date of Tenneille Novinger Aleshire's wedding, who lives in Hagerstown.

Mary Parks Brown was wed on Oct. 14, 2006, and lives in Hagerstown.

Dana Pentoney Grossnickel, who lives in Clear Spring, was the final wedding on Nov. 4, 2006.

The women still get together once a month for dinner.
