Bottle design contest set

FREDERICK, Md. - The Graphic Communications Advisory Council is launching a Design-a-Water-Bottle Label contest for students in grades six through 12 and students attending Frederick Community College.

Three winners will be selected from each of three levels: middle school, high school and Frederick Community College.

High school and college first-place winners will receive a $500 scholarship towards a graphics-related degree, plus a case of bottles bearing their label.

HCC scholarships available

Hagerstown Community College announces that scholarship applications for the 2007-08 academic year are available for new and returning students in degree programs of study.

Students who currently receive an HCC Foundation scholarship must reapply. One application is available for both the HCC Foundation and Student Financial Aid scholarships. Students must be enrolled for at least six credit hours to apply for HCC Foundation scholarships and most student financial aid scholarships.


Several scholarships exist within the foundation, each with varying criteria. Most scholarships are need based. Pick up applications from high school guidance counselors or from the brochure rack outside of the HCC Student Financial Aid Office in the Administration and Student Affairs Building.

BFCU offers scholarships

Bulldog Federal Credit Union will award two $500 scholarships, one each to a college-bound male and female member who exhibited high scholastic achievement and character.

To qualify, applicants must be high school seniors accepted to an accredited college or technical school. They must be members of Bulldog Federal Credit Union.

Applications must be received by the scholarship committee by Friday, May 4. Winners will be announced by Monday, May 14.

Club offers scholarship

A $1,000 scholarship is being offered by Tri-State Farm Toy Collectors Club to a student in the Tri-State area pursuing college studies in agriculture-related or natural resources-related fields.

High school guidance counselors have been sent scholarship information, which includes qualifications and eligibility requirements.
