Flanked by family and members of the legal community in Morgan, Berkeley and Jefferson counties, Gina M. Groh formally was sworn in Friday as a West Virginia Circuit judge in a ceremony at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Charles Town, W.Va.

Groh is the 23rd Judicial Circuit's fifth judge, and only the third woman among 66 who preside on trial court benches across the state.

Robin Jean Davis, chief justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, administered the oath of office. Standing next to Groh are her husband, Stephen Groh, and their son, Michael Groh.
