MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A pedestrian was seriously injured Wednesday night after he was struck on Apple Harvest Drive near an overpass at the Queen Street exit, officials said.
Scott F. McDonald, 32, of Martinsburg, was taken to City Hospital after being struck by a 2005 Ford station wagon about 7:35 p.m. just east of the overpass.
A press release from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department said McDonald was in critical condition, but a woman at the hospital said late Wednesday that he was not listed as a patient.
McDonald was crossing the street or walking along the road when he was struck, the sheriff's department said. Emergency dispatchers said several motorists stopped to help after the accident.
