Pa. growers program Feb. 19

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Penn State Cooperative Extension is holding a "Tri-County Vegetable & Greenhouse Growers Meeting" on Feb. 19 at Shippensburg Senior High School.

The program is designed to keep growers up-to-date on ways to profitably grow and market high-quality produce and greenhouse goods. There will be separate tracks for field vegetable production and greenhouse productions.

Proven technology, new varieties, marketing and pest management are key areas.

Subjects include: Using and Managing Manures and Composts, Tomato Cultivar Trials, Corn Earworm Management, Plants for Large Containers, Greenhouse Pest Control Update and Greenhouse Marketing Trends. PDA pesticide credits will be awarded to licensed applicators.

Admission is $20. It includes all materials and lunch. To register as required, call Steve Bogash at 717-263-9226.
