GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Madonna L. Beverlin has joined The First National Bank of Greencastle as a loan officer.

She will serve the Eastern Boulevard office and the Hagerstown area.

Beverlin has more than 15 years of experience as a branch manager and a pricing and mortgage specialist. She is a graduate of the Maryland Banking School and Middletown High School.

As a loan officer, Beverlin will be responsible for the review and processing of customers' applications for all types of loan services, including mortgages, installment, demand and commercial loans.

Total Fitness Specialists Inc.

Michael Dietrich and Lori Thomas have joined the staff of personal fitness trainers at Total Fitness Specialists Inc.

Dietrich graduated from Wesley College in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. He completed 400 hours in cardio and pulmonary rehabilitation and is completing his clinical exercise specialist certification through American Council of Exercise.

He has more than 12 years of resistance exercise and sports-specific training.

Thomas, previous owner of Sports Connection Fitness Center, is a certified personal trainer through ACE and NDEITA. She is also a certified kickboxing and group exercise instructor through NDEITA. Her most recent certifications include golf wellness specialist and healthy lifestyle management.

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Marian Currens, a graduate of Synergy Healing Arts Center and Massage School's 624-hour diploma program, has completed her associate of arts degree in general studies with a concentration in therapeutic massage at Frederick Community College.

The following people passed the National Certification for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork: Lily Feria of Mercersburg, Pa.; Kelly Willock of Hagerstown; and Cindy Barr and Teresa Martin of Clear Spring.

Carlton A. C. Walker

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Carlton Anne Cook Walker Esq., a McConnellsburg attorney, has been appointed to the American Bar Association's advisory panel.

As a member of the panel, she will work with other attorneys from across the nation to discuss issues facing attorneys. The ABA advisory panel also will counsel the ABA with regard to how to meet the changing needs of the legal profession.

In addition, Walker attended the National Association of Parents of Blind Children Parent Leadership Program and the National Federation of the Blind Washington (D.C.) Seminar in January.

Lisa M. Ankabrandt, CPA; Jodi M. Blair, CPA; Steven T. Reynolds, CPA, CVA; and Terri M. Shoemaker-Kreit, CPA, recently were promoted to the position of manager at Smith Elliott Kearns & Co. LLC.

Ankabrandt, who joined the firm in 1999, works in the Carlisle, Pa., office. She has a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Kutztown University and has completed accounting course work at Harrisburg Area Community College.

Blair, who joined the firm in 1997, works in the Accounting Services Department of the Hagerstown office. She graduated magna cum laude from Frostburg State University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting.

Reynolds, who joined the firm in 1999, works in the Accounting Services Department of the Hagerstown office. He graduated from Shippensburg University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and received a master's degree in business administration from Mount St. Mary's University. He also holds the certified valuation analyst designation.

Shoemaker-Kreit works in the Audit Department of the Hagerstown office and is a graduate of Hood College in Frederick, Md., with a bachelor of arts degree in management with an accounting concentration.

Leadership Development

Karen Beck has joined the board of directors of Washington County Leadership Development Program Inc.

Beck, director of human resources at First Data Commercial Services, is a graduate of Leadership Washington County Class XVIII and will chair the Alumni Association committee activities.

RFS Enterprises

RFS Enterprises, local Shoney's franchisee, has hired Mark Armentrout as director of marketing.

Armentrout will be in charge of marketing and community relations for Shoney's Restaurants in Hagerstown, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Winchester, Manassas, Harrisonburg and Staunton, Va.
