Linda D. Crawford, 54


JUNE 11, 1952-FEB. 1, 2007

ARTEMAS, Pa. - Linda Darlene Crawford, 54, of Artemas, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007.

Born June 11, 1952, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Earl Conrad and Savannah Grace Clingerman Conrad.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard R. Smith, in 1982. They were married in 1974. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Lester A. Crawford, on March 12, 2006. They were married Oct. 22, 1993.

She was employed as a lathe operator at Caperton Furniture Works in Berkeley Springs for 14 years, retiring in 2006.

She attended Bethel Christian Church in Purcell, Pa.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda K. Snyder of Artemas; three stepchildren, Lester A. Crawford of Greencastle, Pa., Linda A. Hott of Breezewood, Pa., and Nancy P. Foor of Front Royal, Va.; nine sisters and brothers, Leota E. Kile of Clearville, Pa., Larry A. Conrad, Lorraine C. Godwin, Lloyd C. Conrad, Lester W. Conrad and Luther C. Conrad, all of Artemas, Leroy A. Conrad of Warfordsburg, Pa., Leonard J. Conrad of Everett, Pa., and Loretta S. Eader of Big Cove Tannery, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Christian Church, Purcell. The Rev. Russell Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Everett, and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.




Larry M. West, 67


DEC. 26, 1939-FEB. 2, 2007

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Larry Melvin West, 67, of 13139 Welty Road, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Dec. 26, 1939, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Melvin Earl and Cora G. "Jenny" Embly West.

He graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1958.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked at Casey's Bar and Grill in Greencastle, Pa.

He was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 of Waynesboro.

He is survived by one son, Bradley J. West of Waynesboro; his twin brother, Barry R. West of Kissimmee, Florida; two sisters, Sally L. Weagley of Waynesboro, and Danna S. Thorsen of Biglerville, Pa.; one brother, Paul L. West of Lancaster, Pa.; his former spouse, Joyce Souders of McConnellsburg, Pa.; two granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lynn E. West.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. John W. Shubert will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.




Clara M. Oberholzer, 57


JAN. 17, 1950-FEB. 2, 2007

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Clara Mae Noll Oberholzer, 57, of 15799 Marsh Road, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at her home.

Born Jan. 17, 1950, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Betty Jane Gray Noll.

She was a 1967 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School.

She was employed as a clerk at Food Lion in Hagerstown from 1998 through 2002.

She had attended the Gospel Chapel in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Oberholzer, whom she married April 29, 1978; one daughter, Kelly J. Hott of Hagerstown; two sons, Scott A. Noll of Dallas, Pa., and Ronald A. Oberholzer of Hagerstown; two stepchildren, Corey Bingaman of Waynesboro, and Babbette Swartz of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Lou Whitlock; and one brother, Charles I. Noll.

Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Robert E. Deeds will officiate. Burial will be in Antietam Cemetery near Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with the funeral expenses.




Walter F. Morrow Sr., 89

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Walter F. Morrow Sr., 89, of Luther Ridge Retirement Community, and formerly of 1275 Candice Lane, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Dec. 4, 1917, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late James S. Morrow Sr. and Ethel Wessels Morrow.

He received a degree in engineering from the University of Maryland.

He was employed by the U.S. Army as an industrial engineer.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in North Africa and Italy.

He was a member of Open Door Church in Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife of more than 57 years, Myra Jean Mohler Morrow; two daughters, Jean Irving of Lancaster, Pa., and Diane Morrow of Fayetteville, Pa.; one son, Walter F. Morrow, Jr. of Rock Hall, Md.; two sisters, Anne Bond and Louise Olson, both of Baltimore; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James S. Morrow Jr.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
