MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Chambersburg had 11 players reach the scoring column, and several of them got into the book earlier than normal.

The No. 3 Trojans rolled early with a swarming defense on their way to a 64-29 victory over James Buchanan on Friday night.

James Buchanan had a 3-0 lead on a 3-point goal by Amy Heisey seconds into the game but Logan Lentz scored five points and the Trojans never looked back on the way to a 14-3 lead.

After a JB bucket by Amy Heisey, Chambersburg rattled off a 13-0 run for a 27-5 lead, at which time Chambersburg coach Brad Rideout began to substitute freely.

Chambersburg (13-7) was a little sluggish, but its defense made the scoreboard look good. The Trojans forced 21 JB turnovers in the first half on the way to a 31-10 lead.

Junior Steph Addleman had seven of her nine points and Lentz scored all eight of hers in the first eight minutes.

The Trojans went on a tear in the third period, led by reserve Tasha Caldwell, who ended up leading the Trojans in scoring with 10 points. Jess Mason contributed eight points off the bench.

All told, Chambersburg forced James Buchanan into 35 turnovers and 24 percent shooting.

Amy Heisey led the Rockets (2-19) with eight points and Brittany Harryman had seven rebounds.
