30-pack of beer stolen from store

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - A 30-pack of Coors Light beer was stolen from a Walkersville liquor store Thursday night, according to a Maryland State Police news release.

When troopers arrived at Village Way Liquor Store at 10:40 p.m., they found that a brick was used to smash the front door window to the business, police said.

A Frederick Police Department K-9 sniffed around the business, which is at Walkersvillage Way shopping center, but found nothing, the release states.

The beer was found discarded a short distance away from the store.

Police ask anyone with information on the crime to call Trooper 1st Class R. George at 1-301-644-4151.

Sheriff's deputies respond to calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls Thursday, Lt. Mark Knight said:

· At 4:30 p.m., a wallet was reported stolen in the 13500 block of Orchard Ridge Road. The wallet contained $130 in cash.


· At 1 p.m., an attempted breaking and entering was reported at Classic Fuels, at 8650 Sharpsburg Pike. Nothing was reported stolen, but damage was estimated at $100.

· At 2:30 p.m., a dealer tag was reported stolen at Massey Lincoln-Mercury, at 1706 Massey Blvd. The tag number is 1A30406.
