Police seek info in Md. 65 wreck



Maryland State Police were seeking information today about an accident involving two cars that collided on Md. 65 north of Interstate 70 Monday at about 3:30 p.m., according to a press release from Maryland State Police.

Carly Ann Wennick, 18, of Boonsboro, was driving southbound on Md. 65 when she neared the traffic light at the I-70 ramp. Thomas J. Cutshall, 22, of Artemas, Pa., was traveling north on Md. 65 when he took a left at the same traffic light. The cars collided and both struck a guardrail, police said.

Wennick and Cutshall both said they turned on a green light. Police could not determine which driver had the green signal and were asking anyone with information to call 301-739-2101.




Police charge man in shooting



FREDERICK, Md. - Just after midnight today, police charged a man in connection with a Jan. 17 shooting in front of the Bloom Grocery Store, Yellow Springs Pike, according to a press release from the Frederick Police Department.

Police traced Richard Tyler James Lindsay, 17, of Frederick, to a room at the Days Inn motel on Buckeystown Pike, police said. Officers from the Frederick Police Department, Maryland State Police and Frederick County Sheriff's Office arrested Lindsay as he tried to escape from the room, according to the release.

Police charged Lindsay with attempted second-degree murder, attempted carjacking, attempted armed carjacking, attempted armed robbery and other crimes, police said. He was charged as an adult.
