Twenty-six Washington County residents were named to the Dean's List at Shepherd University, Shepherdstown, W.Va.

Honored were:

Boonsboro - Tiffany Heyer, Brooke Howell, Jennifer Loudenslager, Bret Nalley.

Brownsville - Andrea Changuris.

Clear Spring - Erika Osborne, Gregory Starliper.

Hagerstown - Jennifer Ferenz, Cassandra Newton, Jessica Polidor, Phillip Powell, Ashley Shingler, Holly Snyder, Nina Wells, Erin Weatherly.

Keedysville - Judy Spence.

Knoxville - Daniel Gray.

Maugansville - Zachary Matthews.

Smithsburg - Andrew Gay, Jessica Meyers, Jennifer Ryan.


Williamsport - Erica Baily, Heather Bowles, Kellyn Cole, Brad Delauter, David Gildersleeve.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must maintain a 3.4 grade-point average for the semester and carry at least 15 hours of course work or be in a professional teaching block.

David Waldman, the son of Mary and Paul Waldman of Hagerstown, has been named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College, Clinton, N.Y., for the 2006 fall semester.

A student must achieve a grade-point average of 90 or above during the term to be placed on the Dean's List.

Waldman, a senior majoring in world politics at Hamilton, is a graduate of George School.

The following Washington County students were named to the Dean's List at Bridgewater College, Bridgewater, Va., for the fall 2006 semester:

Lisa Marie Belella, a senior majoring in psychology, from Smithsburg; Lindsey Grove, a sophomore majoring in biology, from Hagerstown; and Tabitha Pryor, a senior majoring in history and political science, from Hagerstown.

Allison P. Randall, daughter of Patricia and James Randall of Hagerstown, was named to the Dean's List at Towson University, Towson, Md., for the fall 2006 semester. She is a senior majoring in graphic design.

Ryan Lipella, son of Ronald and JoAnn Lipella of Smithsburg, was named to the Dean's List at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C., for the fall 2006 semester.

A 2006 graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School in Hagerstown, Maryland, Lipella is a recipient of the Woodrow Scholars Award in the Baccalaureate Program of the Moore School of Business majoring in Business Administration. Lipella carried a 3.8 grade-point average while earning 15 credits this semester.

As a result of Lipella's academic excellence, he has been inducted into The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. This honor society is for high-achieving first-year students. He is also a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society for First Year Students.

During the fall semester, Lipella participated with the Lambda Chi Alpha International raising money for the Habitat for Humanity.

Beth Ann Snyder of Hagerstown was named to the Dean's List at Mississippi College, Clinton, Miss. for the fall 2006 semester.

Katie Sanders of Waynesboro, Pa., graduated from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in December with a B.S. Ed. degree in early childhood and elementary education.

Erin Lynne Murray of Hagerstown has received a Faculty Scholarship from Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio.

Faculty Scholarships are awarded to first-year students who have high ACT/SAT scores and a cumulative high school grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. This renewable scholarship ranges from $2,000 to $2,500.

Murray, a senior at Grace Academy, plans to major in electrical engineering. She is the daughter of Richard and Nina Murray.

Andrew Duane Crawford of Williamsport was named to the Dean's List at Shenandoah University, Winchester, Va., for the fall 2006 semester. Crawford, a 2004 graduate of Smithsburg High School, is a junior majoring in psychology.

York College of Pennsylvania named Jessica Washko of Sharpsburg to its Dean's List for the fall 2006 semester.

Washko, a graduate of Boonsboro High School, is pursuing a degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Ed and Linda Washko.

Cassandra Mae Hott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery L. Hott of Sharpsburg, was named to the President's List at Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola, Fla., for earning an A average for the fall 2006 semester.

The following area students were named to the Dean's List at Saint Vincent's College, Latrobe, Pa., for the fall 2005 semester:

Hagerstown - Erin M. Donoghue, a senior majoring in biology; Conner M. Gilbert, a sophomore majoring in communication.

Chambersburg, Pa. - Mary E. Rebert, a sophomore majoring in psychology.

Joelle L. Keyser of Boonsboro and Angela L. Harvey of Middletown, Md., were named to the Dean's List at Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs, N.C., for the fall 2006 semester.

Keyser is a biology major.

Cara Walsh of Boonsboro was named to the Dean's List at Lycoming College, Williamsport, Pa., for the fall 2006 semester. She is majoring in art - photo/electronic.

The following area students earned Honor Roll status at Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Va., for the fall 2006 term for compiling a grade-point average of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale:

Adam Tyler Hockensmith, a junior, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky A. Hockensmith of Hagerstown.

Mason Chandler Herman, a junior, son of Dr. Dale S. Herman of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Kim E. Keasey of Hagerstown.

The following Franklin County, Pa., students were named to the Dean's List at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania for the fall 2006 semester:

Maureen Dameron of Chambersburg, Pa., a nursing major.

Sarah Bounds of Shippensburg, Pa., a biology major.

Melinda Jo Johnson of Spring Run, Pa., a nursing major.
