Art school gets grant for classes

Contemporary School of the Arts and Gallery Inc. has been awarded a grant by the Maryland State Arts Council for its arts and crafts classes.

Instructors Robert Savidge and Jonah Forman are conducting classes in pen-and-ink drawing for those ages 13 and older. Each class is limited to 12 students and preregistration is required.

Classes are scheduled for today at the Frederick Manor Community Center from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Memorial Recreation Center from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The free classes are held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and preregistration is required.




Valentine craft classes will be held at the Contemporary School for the Arts on Saturday, Jan. 27, and Saturday, Feb. 10, from 11 a.m. until noon.

Students ages 4 to 11 are invited to join. Each class is limited to 12 students and preregistration is required.
