GREENCASTLE, Pa. - A 15-year-old Hagerstown girl and a Baltimore resident were pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. Sunday after a car in which they were passengers hit a pole in the 15000 block of Williamsport Pike just after midnight.

Takeyha P. Thomas of 1839 Misty Acres Drive and Joshua R. Brown, 18, of 2530 E. Biddle St., were riding in the back of a 1997 Ford Taurus, Franklin County (Pa.) Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said.

The pair were not wearing seat belts and were thrown from the vehicle, he said.

Six people were in the car, and five were thrown from it, a news release from Pennsylvania State Police said.

One person was flown to York (Pa.) Hospital, and two others were taken by ambulance to Washington County Hospital, police said.

Police did not release any of the victims' names.

The car was traveling south on Williamsport Pike toward the Mason-Dixon Line when it crossed the northbound lane and hit a utility pole near 15440 Williamsport Pike, police said.
