The following are the 2007 Hagerstown YMCA Adult Achievers:

Dawn Brooks

Dawn Brooks was born in Frederick, Md., and grew up in Boston. She earned her degree in psychology at Leslie University, where she also completed course work toward a master's degree in human services and mental health.

In 2003, she moved to Hagerstown, and in January 2004 joined First Data as a cross sales specialist.

After nearly two years of consistent top sales performance, she joined the Sales Central Department as a manager, and currently is transitioning to a new management position with the Merchant Activations Group.

Prior to joining First Data, Dawn was employed by the St. Mary's Women and Infants Center in Boston, where she managed aspects of the fundraising process including grant proposals, direct mail solicitations and agency tours. She also volunteered her time to facilitate seminars at St. Mary's, including programs for women transitioning from welfare to work.

She also worked for the American Diabetes Association, working on educational and informational programs, training volunteers and soliciting donations through special events. She also acts as a mentor, work she began in 1999, mentoring a pregnant teenager who now is in her last year of nursing school.

She also is supportive of corporate community outreach, and as such took the lead to organize an adopt-a-family project benefiting a local family in December.

Dawn lives in Hagerstown with her husband, Wil. They have three children, Eric, Jauhara and Jaelyn.

Natalie Brown has been an employee of First Data for more than 16 years. As an operations manager for First Data, she has day-to-day management responsibility for six team managers and more than 100 Call Center agents in a 24/7 environment.

Prior to his promotion, he was an inside sales partner, responsible for developing new techniques to shorten sales cycles and generating and maintaining revenue for First Data.

He provides mentoring and training to his employees, helping them in their pursuit to advance in their First Data careers.

Jerry is the youngest of 10 children, and a graduate of Middletown (Md.) High School. Jerry resides in Waynesboro, Pa., and is an active member of the Junior Youth Football Coaches Association.

Nancy Steel

There are about 2,000 eligible participants, and Steel is responsible for monitoring and tracking participation in the program as well as ensuring the accuracy of incentive payments.
