CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg woman and a New York man were in Franklin County Prison on $50,000 bail each on drug-trafficking charges after borough police conducted a search of a Scotland Avenue home Thursday night.

Erika Lee Colon, 19, of 800 S. Fourth St., and Devon L. Mason, address unavailable, each were charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Todd R. Williams, police said.

The house at 980 Scotland Ave. was searched following an investigation of possible drug activity, police said. The affidavit of probable cause stated police found a small amount of marijuana "in plain view" upon entering the house.

Police also found a plastic bag containing 13 pieces of suspected crack cocaine under a bed. Also under the bed was a box of plastic bags in which police found two more bags, each containing 13 pieces of suspected crack cocaine, police said.

Also seized was $1,100 in cash, police said.

Found in the kitchen was a note from a man who lived at the house giving Colon permission to live there for a month, police said.

The borough police Crime Impact Team, its Special Emergency Team, a K-9 unit and the Franklin County Drug Task Force assisted in the investigation and search, police said.
