Horizon Goodwill seeks donations

Donations of slightly used clothing and household items to Horizon Goodwill Industries are down this winter throughout the quad-state region and Goodwill is asking for your help. Goods donated to Goodwill are sold in retail stores and profits realized from those sales fund employment and training programs and other career services for people with disabilities and other disadvantages, such as welfare dependency, homelessness and lack of education and work experience.

Items most needed are gently used articles of clothing but Goodwill also accepts household items, furniture, toys, collectibles, art and small kitchen appliances.

Donations are accepted at an attended site at 151 N. Burhans Blvd., in Hagerstown or at any of HGI's 11 retail stores in Berkeley Springs, Charles Town, Martinsburg and Keyser, W.Va.; Greencastle and Waynesboro, Pa.; Cumberland, Hagerstown, LaVale and Grantsville, Md.; and Winchester, Va.

For information, call your local Goodwill retail store or the corporate center at 301-733-7330.
