Hagerstown man accused of selling crack cocaine

Bail for a Hagerstown man in jail on drug charges was set at $125,000 Tuesday, a week before he turns 68 years old, Washington County District court records show.

Freddie Lee Gardin Sr., of 136 East Ave., is accused of arranging to sell crack cocaine to a police informant Friday near Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport, a charging document alleges.

When he was arrested, Gardin allegedly dropped a plastic bag containing crack cocaine, the document states. Police found more than $1,100 in cash in Gardin's pockets, the document states.

Court records show that Gardin is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs other than marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute narcotics and manufacturing narcotics for distribution.
